Envoy Mortgage recently announced it will gift 50 households across the U.S. up to $150,000 in mortgage assistance, including tax, as part of its Gift of Home program designed to show gratitude during a challenging time for customers. In 2021, Envoy Mortgage will randomly select 50 of its customers from across the country to receive one month’s mortgage payment and tax assistance.
To ensure the greatest good, Gift of Home recipients are customers who play essential roles in their communities and have been some of the hardest it during the coronavirus pandemic, including military veterans, first responders, nurses, educators and small business owners and their employees.
The program officially launched in Envoy Mortgage’s hometown of Houston, where the company surprised Josué Rios, a firefighter from Mexican descent, who contracted COVID-19 while working on the frontlines. Envoy Mortgage is making all of Mr. Rios’ mortgage payments, January through December 2021.
“2020 was a challenging year, not only for my family, but also for so many others in our community. I’m overwhelmed and so grateful to be receiving the Gift of Home from Envoy Mortgage,” said Houston firefighter, Josue Rios, who works at Fire Station 83. “This is life changing and means the world to me and my family.”

Among the Gift of Home recipients to-date, another Hispanic winner, Diana Cobb from San Antonio, was surprised by Envoy team members at her office on February 26. She was shocked and humbled to receive support from her mortgage company during an incredibly challenging time in her life. Cobb served as a veteran for more than 10 years, is the mother of three children under the age of 11 and lost her husband in 2019.
Cobb said, “This gift gives me peace for me and my kids. It brings me relief since this month I won’t have to worry about paying my home mortgage. This means everything to me. When I closed my home on his 33rd birthday it was a sign that everything will be all right. Today you have made him present. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Diana Cobb said her biggest challenges are working through the loss of her husband’s life and her young boys, who still mourn him.
“To say the coronavirus pandemic has made life difficult for many people across the country is an understatement. We had to do something to help lift people up. It’s just part of the Envoy DNA,” said Ron Millard, chief executive officer, Envoy Mortgage.
