Today, during the Florida Cabinet meeting, Governor Rick Scott recognized the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando as the 2012 Hispanic Chamber of the Year for their work on improving economic development opportunities for Hispanics in Central Florida.
Governor Scott said, «I thank the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando for their work in strengthening relationships with Hispanic companies and professionals in Central Florida. Creating an environment where Florida’s private-sector can create jobs is a top priority. In the last two years, we have cut spending, cut taxes, and paid down state debt. We have created more than 300,000 private sector jobs since December 2010, and Florida’s unemployment rate has dropped to 7.5 percent for the month of March, the lowest since October 2008.»
President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando Diana C. Bolivar said, «We are honored to be recognized by the Governor and his cabinet as a leading chamber and are proud to serve our members and our Community to continue to bring vitality to the region. The national award we received was a great honor for the chamber and its members. While we are very proud of the accomplishments that led to this award and the work we do, we also recognize that there is still much work in front of us to achieve our vision of enabling sustained economic growth for our members and the broader Hispanic community in the Metro Orlando area.»
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando is the largest business-related organization representing the Hispanic community in Central Florida and has been an essential voice for nearly 20 years. It serves as the gateway for large organizations and national corporations to connect with the broader Hispanic community in the Metro Orlando area.
