Miami, 31 de diciembre de 2013 (Por Negocios Magazine). Endeavor selected three entrepreneurs representing 2 companies from Miami, the organization’s first US affiliate at an International Selection Panel held in Dubai, UAE December 10 – 12. The Miami companies were among 20 chosen from 12 countries.
Endeavor Miami’s first two companies are an enterprise mobile platform developer Kidozen and fast casual restaurant operator My Ceviche. According to Endeavor Miami Managing Director Laura I. Maydón, the businesses reflect some of the great diversity of entrepreneurial talent and initiatives in Miami today. “We look forward to connecting these entrepreneurs with top-level mentors and advisors to help them scale rapidly,” said Maydón.
KidoZen, founded by entrepreneur Jesus Rodriguez, is an enterprise mobile platform that provides a simple, secure and scalable middleware to integrate backend and line of business capabilities into companies’ mobile apps. Despite a crowded competitive landscape, KidoZen has been successful at quickly securing customers from a range of industries and geographies. KidoZen is based in Boca Raton, FL. and looking for office space to move to Miami.
Founded in 2012 by entrepreneurs Roger Duarte and Sam Gorenstein, My Ceviche currently delivers a tasty, fresh and affordable range of ceviches, salads, tacos, burritos and stone crabs in a fast casual environment. The company currently operates in two locations in South Beach and Brickell with three more stores set to open in 2014, including one at the Miami International Airport.
“These first companies selected by Endeavor represent just the beginning of our goal of identifying and helping high-impact businesses to grow in Miami,” said Endeavor Miami’s Co-chair Adriana Cisneros. “We look forward to evaluating and mentoring a new generation of entrepreneurs.”
The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation invested $2 million to support the launch of Endeavor Miami earlier this year. “The first Endeavor Miami companies—My Ceviche and Kidozen— are testament to the diversity of ideas that make up the city’s emerging innovation ecosystem,” said Matt Haggman, Knight Foundation program director for Miami. “While distinct, they both share the ability to scale, and reach their high-impact potential— they encapsulate Endeavor’s role in using entrepreneurship as a tool to make connections and build community in Miami.»
The International Selection Panel (ISP) is the culmination of a rigorous multi-step selection process. At the ISP, top international business leaders interview candidates about their businesses and high-impact potential, and then vote on whether or not candidates become Endeavor Entrepreneurs. Post-selection, Endeavor provides entrepreneurs with customized services, including introductions to local and international business mentors and volunteers from Fortune 500 consulting firms. Endeavor Entrepreneurs have had a significant track record of creating thousands of jobs and building sustainable growth models.
Endeavor Miami launched its operations last September and is currently conducting the search and selection process for high-impact entrepreneurs in South Florida. Endeavor Miami’s team is looking forward to presenting more entrepreneurs to be selected at the different ISPs that will be held in 2014.
